This privacy notice explains how Lucian Talpos trading as EPRLocksmith uses personal information when you contact me, ask for a quotation, book work, use this website or interact with customer-review content shown on it.

Who is responsible for your information

Lucian Talpos trading as EPRLocksmith is the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. You can contact me at info@eprlocksmith.co.uk or 07454 482395.

Information I may collect

Depending on how you contact me and the work requested, this may include your name, telephone number, email address, town or postcode, service address, photographs you send, details of the lock, door or window problem, appointment and job correspondence, quotation or invoice information, and payment or accounting records where relevant.

The website hosting environment may also create normal technical security logs such as IP address, browser information, requested pages and timestamps.

How I use your information and the lawful basis

I use enquiry and job information to respond to you, assess the work, provide quotations, arrange appointments, carry out locksmith services, communicate about the job and deal with any follow-up. Where this is necessary to take steps at your request before a contract or to perform a contract, I rely on the contract lawful basis.

I may keep appropriate records for accounting, tax or other legal requirements where processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation.

I also rely on legitimate interests where necessary for the secure and effective operation of the business, including preventing misuse of the website, keeping proportionate records of enquiries and completed work, handling complaints or disputes, and protecting or establishing legal rights. These uses are limited to what is reasonably necessary and expected in running a locksmith business.

Website enquiries and photographs

The contact form asks for your name, telephone number and a description of the problem. Email and town or postcode are optional. You can also attach up to three photographs.

Uploaded photographs are temporarily placed on the website server so they can be attached to the enquiry email, then the temporary website copies are deleted immediately after the send attempt. The enquiry email and any attached photographs may remain in the business mailbox or job records for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with the enquiry, quotation, work and any relevant follow-up.

Customer reviews

The Reviews page may reproduce limited review text, star ratings and the public display name used by a reviewer on Google or another public review platform. That information comes from the platform on which the reviewer chose to publish it. I use it to show genuine independent customer feedback, relying on legitimate interests. If you are the reviewer and would like a reproduced review removed from this website, contact me using the details above. Removal here does not remove the original review from the third-party platform.

Who information may be shared with

I do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers needed to run the business and website, such as website hosting, email delivery, backup/security, accounting or payment services. Information may also be disclosed where required by law, to professional advisers where necessary, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Some technology providers may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, I use providers and arrangements intended to provide the safeguards required by UK data protection law.

Cookies, maps and external websites

The public website does not intentionally use advertising cookies or behavioural advertising. WordPress and hosting/security systems may use essential technical cookies where required for site operation or security.

The Areas page uses a click-to-load Google map. The Google map is not loaded until you choose to open it. Once loaded, Google may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details and may set or read cookies under its own policies. Links to Google, Trustpilot, Rated People and other external websites are also governed by those services once you choose to visit them.

How long information is kept

I keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected for. The period depends on whether the information relates to an enquiry that did not proceed, completed work, a warranty or complaint, accounting records, or a legal requirement. Records that must be kept for tax or accounting purposes are retained for the period required by law and are then deleted or securely disposed of when no longer needed.

Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to processing, or transfer of information in a portable form. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time. These rights are not absolute in every situation.

To make a data protection request or complaint, email info@eprlocksmith.co.uk. I will respond in line with applicable UK data protection law.

Complaints to the ICO

If you are unhappy with how your personal information has been handled, please contact me first so I can look into it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator. See ICO guidance on making a data protection complaint.

Changes to this notice

I will update this page if the way the website or business handles personal information changes materially.
