About EPRLocksmith

I am Lucian, the locksmith behind EPRLocksmith. I run the business independently from Ashford, Middlesex, so the person you speak to is the person who attends the job.

A locksmith with an engineering approach

My background is in mechanical engineering, and that naturally shapes the way I work. A door that will not lock is not always simply a bad lock. A failed gearbox, worn hinges, poor alignment, badly positioned keeps or another mechanical fault can all create the same symptom.

I prefer to work out what has actually failed before replacing parts. Sometimes the answer is a new lock or mechanism. Other times the existing hardware can be repaired, adjusted or kept in service once the real cause has been corrected.

Diagnose first

I look at how the complete door, window or locking system is behaving rather than replacing the most obvious part by default.

Repair where it makes sense

If a component can be repaired properly and safely, replacement is not automatically the first option.

Prepared for common faults

I carry a broad range of common cylinders, locks, gearboxes, handles and other parts and aim to complete most routine repairs in one visit where the correct part is available.

More than changing locks

I work on uPVC, composite, aluminium and timber doors, multipoint locking systems, patio and sliding doors, bi-fold doors and uPVC windows as well as traditional nightlatches, mortice locks, cylinders and additional security.

That mix of locksmith work and mechanical repair is one of the reasons EPRLocksmith covers faults that do not always fit neatly into the words “lock change”. A stiff handle, a dropped door, a jammed window or a sliding door that refuses to lock can all need a different approach.

Independent from the first call to the finished job

There is no call centre and no subcontractor roulette. You can explain the problem directly to me, send photographs where useful, and I can often get a good idea of what may be involved before attending.

I keep pricing straightforward, with no hidden fees. If additional work or parts become necessary after inspection, I explain what I have found rather than quietly adding things to the bill.
