A customer in Bentley got in touch after the glazing in a two-section panel door was smashed while gardening.
I visited first to take accurate measurements so I could price the replacement properly. The existing unit used UV-resistant glazing, which made it a little more expensive than standard glass, but the difference was not huge and there were clear benefits to replacing it with the same type rather than downgrading the specification.
Once the measurements were confirmed, I prepared the exact quotation and the customer agreed straight away. The replacement unit was then ordered from the manufacturer.
A few days later the glazing was ready. I returned for the second visit, removed the damaged unit and fitted the new UV-resistant double-glazed panel.
Everything went smoothly from measurement through to installation — one of those jobs where, unusually, nothing decided to fight back.
