A customer in High Wycombe called because a uPVC window was stuck shut and also had several blown double-glazed units that would need replacing later.
The immediate problem was the blocked window.
It used an Anglian locking system with three locking points: side shotbolts together with the centre section.
One side was releasing, but the other side and the centre were not.
Fortunately, the window was on the ground floor, so I could also work from outside.
After a few minutes I managed to open the window and replace the failed component.
Before leaving, I gave the other windows in the house a basic service and found another mechanism that was already showing signs of failure.
The windows themselves were good quality, but this type of hardware needs regular maintenance to keep it operating properly.
