A customer in High Wycombe called because the front door had become unreliable and the handles were looking tired enough that she wanted those changed as well.
When the handle was pressed, the gearbox made an awful noise and only operated intermittently.
I removed the handles and tested the gearbox directly with a specialist operating key. The same noise and intermittent behaviour were still there, confirming that the fault was inside the gearbox rather than the handles.
I did not carry this particular model in normal van stock — there is only so much the little van can carry. 😄
I ordered the correct replacement and returned the following day.
The new gearbox and handles were fitted together, then the complete multipoint system was tested to make sure the door was operating properly again.
