A returning customer in Marlow asked me to look at a bolt lock on a sliding door that had started giving intermittent problems.
Once on site, I tested the lock and confirmed that it needed replacing rather than adjusting. This type of sliding-door bolt lock does not have the sort of individual replacement parts that make a sensible internal repair possible, so replacing the complete unit was the practical option.
These locks come in a wide range of shapes and sizes and I did not have the correct one in van stock. I took the details, sourced a suitable replacement and returned once it arrived.
Finding the correct lock took a bit of work, and the installation was not completely straightforward because the door had a few other issues as well. After working through those complications, the new bolt lock was fitted and the sliding door was operating properly again.
