A customer in Twickenham got in touch because the front-door nightlatch would no longer latch reliably.
The problem had become inconvenient enough that they were worried about the door closing behind them when stepping out briefly to collect a parcel or put out the rubbish.
The existing lock showed heavy wear from age and had reached the point where replacement made more sense than trying to keep it going.
The customer wanted the same type of nightlatch again, but it was not something I carried in normal van stock. These units are relatively expensive to keep on the shelf indefinitely, so I ordered the correct replacement in the finish the customer wanted.
I returned the following day and fitted the new nightlatch.
The keep also needed a couple of adjustments. Once that was done, the lock was latching properly and the door had stopped rattling in the wind as well.
