A customer in Staines got in touch because the French patio door had become difficult to close properly.
I removed the multipoint locking mechanism and opened the gearbox to inspect it.
The cause was straightforward: wear inside the gearbox had reached the point where the mechanism was no longer operating reliably.
I had the correct replacement gearbox in van stock, fitted it during the visit and lubricated the rest of the multipoint system while everything was accessible.
After reassembly and testing, the French door was closing and locking properly again.
