A customer in Staines called because the front door was becoming progressively harder to close and sometimes difficult to open again.
The problem was visible as soon as I tested the handle.
The multipoint mechanism was not retracting fully when the handle was pressed, which pointed to wear inside the gearbox.
I removed the failed gearbox and fitted the correct replacement from van stock.
After reassembly and testing, the multipoint locking points were retracting correctly again and the front door was opening and closing normally.
