A customer in Eastfield got in touch because the garden door had become difficult to operate and needed investigating.
I removed the door hardware and opened the multipoint gearbox to inspect the internal components.
The fault was immediately visible: one of the toothed wheels inside the gearbox was missing several teeth.
With that amount of internal damage, the gearbox needed replacing rather than trying to repair the worn gear.
I had the correct replacement in van stock, fitted it during the first visit and then tested the complete multipoint system.
The garden door was operating normally again without needing a return appointment.
