A returning customer in Ashford asked me to source and install a bathroom door for her, including the bathroom lock. I do not normally take on many full door installations, but she was local and I had worked for her before, so I agreed to help.
The frame made the job rather more interesting than it first appeared. It was an unusual size, so even the closest suitable door needed a substantial amount trimming from the height. The frame was also badly out of square, and the door stops were not sitting at a consistent distance. If everything had simply been fitted to the frame as it was, the bottom of the door would have ended up roughly an inch away from the stop.
The bathroom had already been refurbished and the customer understandably did not want to start rebuilding the frame as well, so I worked with what was there and got the new door fitting as well as the existing opening allowed.
Once the awkward part was dealt with, I installed the bathroom lock and furniture neatly and tested the finished door.
Enough about the crooked frame though — the lock installation itself came out rather nicely. 😄
