An estate agent in Isleworth asked me to inspect a garden door that was no longer closing properly.
I expected a normal adjustment job, but the condition of the frame was far worse than I had imagined.
The multipoint lock itself was still operational. The real problem was that the bottom half of the frame had shifted outwards by roughly half an inch.
A closer inspection showed why: there were no screws securing the bottom of the frame and none down the lock side either. It was surprising the frame had stayed in position for as long as it had.
I secured the frame properly and then worked through the alignment step by step.
After what felt like a million and one adjustments, the garden door was sitting correctly again and the existing multipoint lock could operate as it should.
