A customer in Slough wanted a cat flap installed in a uPVC door that had a double-glazed unit rather than a solid panel.
I gave an approximate price first, with the exact cost to follow once I had taken the glazing measurements. The customer agreed, so I visited to measure the existing unit for the glass manufacturer.
Normally this type of made-to-measure glazing only takes a few days, but the order landed just before the Easter holidays while the manufacturer was extremely busy. The new unit therefore took almost two weeks to arrive. I kept the customer updated and apologised for the delay, although by that point the manufacturing time was outside my control.
As soon as the replacement unit was ready, I returned and installed it the same day with the cat-flap opening prepared for the new setup.
The installation itself went smoothly and the customer was very understanding about the delay.
