A customer in Staines got in touch because the patio door was jammed shut. They still had the key, but the multipoint locking system would not disengage.
I removed the handles to expose the gearbox and see exactly what had failed.
The mechanism was completely stuck and would not release through normal manipulation, so I eventually had to drill controlled access to the failed gearbox.
That allowed me to release the mechanism and open the patio door without damaging the door, the handles or the existing cylinder, which meant the customer could continue using the same keys.
I had the correct replacement part in van stock and fitted it during the visit.
Once reassembled and adjusted, I tested the complete patio-door locking system and everything was operating normally again.
