A customer in Isleworth got in touch because she was struggling to close one of the windows.
She sent me a few photographs beforehand and the hinge was clearly badly distorted, so the likely cause was already fairly obvious before I arrived.
For once, it turned into a nice straightforward job — and being on the ground floor certainly helped.
I deglazed the window to take the load off the sash, removed the damaged hinge and fitted a suitable replacement from van stock.
Once the new hinge was in place, I reglazed the window and checked the opening and closing action.
Around 30 minutes later the window was operating properly again and closing as it should.
