A customer in Staines got in touch because the fire-exit door lock had become increasingly difficult to turn.
I visited first to identify the existing lock and work out the most sensible replacement.
Rather than fit another awkward setup, I offered the customer a more cost-effective thumb-turn model that would provide a better grip and make the lock easier to operate.
The customer agreed and I ordered the correct parts.
They arrived the following day and I returned to fit the replacement.
By around midday, the fire-exit door lock was operating smoothly again with the easier-to-use thumb-turn in place.
