A customer in Ashford contacted me because the nightlatch on the front door of her flat had become so difficult to use that she had resorted to opening it with pliers.
At that point, replacing the worn lock made far more sense than trying to keep struggling with it.
I removed the old nightlatch, measured the door carefully and made the adjustments needed for the replacement.
A new British Standard nightlatch was then installed.
After fitting and testing the latch, key and internal operation, the front door was working normally again without the customer needing the pliers.
