A customer in Ashford got in touch because he wanted locks fitted to the bedroom doors for privacy. The house had recently been renovated and this was one of the remaining jobs on the list.
I asked for a few photos and some basic details first so I could give him an initial idea of cost. Once that was agreed, I went over to look at the doors properly and talk through the different options.
There are several ways of adding a lock to an internal door, and the best choice depends on the door, how you want the finished job to look and, obviously, the budget. Once we’d settled on the right option, I sourced everything needed for the installation.
I even managed to find escutcheons that matched the colour of the existing handles, which pleased me probably more than it should have 😆. Small detail, but it makes the finished job look like it was meant to be there rather than added afterwards.
The installation itself went smoothly. The photos are from different doors because I only realised a couple of weeks later, while putting the pictures together, that I hadn’t taken a complete start-to-finish set of the same door.
Oh well. Can’t win them all 😊.
