A customer in Camberley got in touch after the glazing in a sliding door was shattered.
The damage had happened while tidying the garden. A stone had been picked up by a grass trimmer or mower and hit the glass — the sort of accident that happens very easily around patio and sliding doors.
I visited to measure the damaged unit accurately and ordered a replacement to match the required specification.
The new unit was made with toughened, UV-resistant glazing. It also happened to be the largest pane on that side of the house, because naturally those are always the ones that seem to get damaged.
The replacement was ready and fitted within about a week.
Once installed, the sliding-door glazing was secure and the damaged panel had been replaced with a correctly specified toughened unit.
