Another customer in Feltham got in touch about problems with the multipoint lock on the front door.
By this stage, the door would only open by using the key from either side, and from inside the customer could no longer secure it properly.
As soon as I removed the multipoint mechanism from the door, the cause was obvious. Broken pieces of metal were falling out of the back of the gearbox, so there was no realistic adjustment or lubrication fix to be made.
I had the correct replacement gearbox in stock and fitted it during the visit. The replacement was supplied with a 12-month warranty at the time of the job.
Once everything was reassembled and tested, the handles, key and multipoint locking mechanism were all operating normally again.
