A customer in Feltham got in touch after snapping a key inside the high-security front door lock. She had spare keys available, so the aim was simply to remove the broken piece without replacing a perfectly usable lock.
I reached the property in around 15 minutes. Once I had a proper look at where the key had snapped, the extraction itself took roughly a minute.
The customer watched the tools I was using while I worked, which has never bothered me. The price had already been agreed over the phone and there was nothing to hide; if the broken key can be removed quickly and cleanly, that is a good result for everybody.
The snapped section came out without needing to change the lock, so the customer could carry on using the existing cylinder with her spare keys.
