A customer in Surbiton got in touch because he wanted to convert his existing nightlatch from a conventional key-operated setup to a Yale battery-powered keyless system.
He had already bought all of the required parts and wanted them installed professionally.
I had not fitted this particular conversion kit before, so I worked through the layout carefully before making any changes to the door.
The old lock had already left marks and fixing points behind, and I wanted to reuse those where possible rather than create unnecessary new holes.
I showed the customer where the new lock would sit and explained how the existing marks would affect the final position. He was happy with the proposed layout.
After roughly half an hour, the new Yale keyless system was installed.
The customer then set up his access code, tested the lock and confirmed that the new system was operating correctly.
